Two of our favourite online stores to shop for natural beauty products.

People nowadays are more frequently choosing not to apply products with chemicals that may irritate or damage sensitive skin. Instead, they are opting to only use pure organic/natural preparations. An organic skincare routine is one of the best things you can do to promote the appearance of your skin, and it offers other perks as well. A recent study suggests that using natural ingredients on your skin can address hyper-pigmentation and irritation, while another found that it can help reduce skin damage caused by the sun.

This time, Avenue T is featuring two of our favourite online stores to shop for natural beauty products.

Rehman's InTru Beauty

Rehman's InTru Beauty is a small company which was founded in April 2017, by a young girl named Farzana Tasnim Rehman, whose belief and intent is to combine the ancient recipes used and passed down from generations before us, with a twist of what we have now. From this, it has grown and is growing into the best, handmade, organic, selling products that anyone has seen. All of the products at Rehman's InTru Beauty are handmade with care to suit their customers’ needs, completely chemical free. Not to forget it is all nature inspired, so your skin and hair will feel revitalized.

“We have two products and these are our best sellers as well. From the mask range we have the GoGlow face mask which we call ‘the skin’s bestie’. This was created by me for all skin types. This mask is very mild yet effective on the skin. It works for hyper-pigmentation, sun tan and burns, tan rashes, acne marks, pimples, removes excessive oil yet locks in moisture and works like an exfoliator. It is a mask when applied but it also has the particles that work as a scrub when rubbed off after drying. It has ingredients that came from my grandmother’s generation to mine.We also have an oil called the Hairgician, which is loved by many. The recipe of the oil is close to my heart because my great grandmother made this for her daughter and it has been passed down in the family. I didn’t change this recipe as I always wanted to keep the recipe intact and wanted everyone to feel blessed after applying the oil, just like us,” informed Farzana Tasnim.

Hairgician is the first product that was thought of. This hair oil is made with the combination of herbs, wild flowers and raw oils. With a mild fragrance, it helps tackle hair related issues, such as hair loss, dandruff, and itchy scalp. As suggested by its name, it also brings life to dull hair and repairs it from damage. So, why not give it a go, feed your hair the good stuff and let it thank you?

The second product, as Farzana said, is a skin revitalizing pack. Your hair looks amazing, so shouldn't your skin get some love as well?

The GoGlow pack aids the skin to look more healthy, soft, smooth and of course, gives it a glow. It also lightens acne scars and helps to shrink open pores. Not only does it do all that, but it also helps clean dirt and excess oil from the face while moisturizing it as well.

“It is at times difficult for me to gather all the raw ingredients as we are Dhaka based and the ingredients come all the way from Sylhet. I cannot trust the quality of raw materials that are produced in Dhaka. Thus I bring them all from a farm that is close to my home in Sylhet. I have to make sure that the raw materials are always in stock as I make fresh batches of products every single day,” said Farzana, while discussing how she acquires raw materials for her products.

For summer, the best product that Farzana Recommends from her line is theGoGlow face mask because it was specially made for humid countries like ours. It fights and shields the skin from all the problems one can ever face during summer. The hair oil is also an effective product for summer. It will protect the hair from pollution and sun.

When asked about her future plans, Farzana went on to say, “Currently we are an online shop but in the future, I plan on opening a shop of my own. For the long run, I have plans to start shipping my products world wide as well.” Rehman's InTru Beauty is now planning to make and bring more organic, natural products like these two to complete all of one’s skin care needs.

Sarin’s Store

Sarin’s Store is the brainchild of Safa Jahangir, who is a Pharmacy graduate, and Zarin Tasneem, who is a graduate in English Literature. They've both graduated from East West University. Zarin handles the public relations, while Safa does all the research about product formulations. The Sarin’s Sisters believe in turning to nature for skin care. Right now, Safa is doing her MBA at North South University and is a beauty consultant at Shajgoj.com while Zarin is doing her Masters in ELT  at Dhaka University and is also working full time at Beautiv as a business development executive.

When asked what factors they consider when coming up with a skin care or hair care product, Safa and Zarin informed us that they keep track of the trends that attract their customers the most. “While launching a new product, we, first consider what our customers are looking for. Secondly, we look into our collection, and find out which solutions are lacking there. Then we try to come up with a solution to their problem. It comes with a lot of market research,” they said.

There are a total of 24 individual products in their collection now. It includes five different types of oils and eight specially formulated products for hair and skin care. They collaborate with social media influencers and e-commerce based businesses and also participate in different events and exhibitions. “So far we've attended MIB Weekend Spirit, BRAC Nature Carnival and Women of the World (WOW) Dhaka festival,” said the Sarin’s Sisters.

When asked what advice they’d give to someone looking to start a similar online skincare line that is organic, the young entrepreneurs said, “For someone to start an organic skincare line, we'd suggest to acquire in-depth knowledge before developing any formula. While promoting the pros of a product, one should also mention the cons of it. And lastly, one must keep a product on trial for at least six months. When we started off, it was fun and easy to come up with a formula until we found out that the stability of the product is as important as its aftermath.”

Here are the priority products for summer that the Sarin’s Sisters highly recommend:
