What motivated you to come up with your clothing line?
All of us had a keen interest in fashion, but what brought the idea of starting a clothing line was creating a platform for women to have access to affordable fashion where they could incorporate their own individual styles.
What makes your clothing line different from the others?
First and foremost, ClickStitch allows you to customize your clothing to your taste. We help bring the customer’s idea of a perfect piece alive, rather than giving them a standardized product.
Secondly, I think, as a brand and as a clothing line, we have something for everyone.
What kind of challenges did you face when you first started off?
In the beginning, we faced challenges with nearly everything. But I think it was the hardest to understand what material works best with which designs, what crinkles and what doesn’t, and most of all, what sort of products our customers actually like.
What is your focus point for designing a piece for this wedding season ?
The idea for this wedding season was to create pieces that would be timeless, elegant, and unique. Every piece in the collection is different than the other. They are all made of materials that can be worn throughout the year. Every piece is such that it can be both, a bride’s trousseau and a bridesmaid’s outfit.
If you take up an order for a custom design, what is the process and the time frame for that?
We do take orders for customized designs and we thrive on it. Our customers usually show us pictures of what they would like, sometimes with one of our designs, or with an idea of their own. As a brand, we try to interpret their ideas into clothes to match their vision and that may take up to two to three weeks depending on the design.
Apart from wedding wear, what is the target market for your designs?
Wedding wear is something that we have ventured into recently. However, our target market remains women who like to buy and wear unique, modern cuts and designs at an affordable price.
From designing to production, to the final product, which part stresses you out the most?
I think the scariest part is the tailoring. I can still supervise the karchupi work, but once I’ve handed the piece to the tailor, it is out of my control. I feel that it is that one aspect that I feel can make or break a piece. I am usually most stressed during this particular part of the whole process.
Why people should choose your brand?
I think people should choose our brand because they can’t box us into one category. We’re not too traditional and we’re not too modern -- we’re a marriage of the two. We are constantly experimenting with different but affordable pieces.
Where do your inspirations come from?
I think our biggest inspiration comes from our customers. The feedback from our clients motivate us to keep doing better.
What’s the story behind your latest collection?
Our current collection, Nazakat, is a culmination of our love at ClickStitch for weddings and fashion. A collection that is made for the woman who holds the bride’s lehenga as she walks up the stage, the woman who motivates the dance crew to give their best, the woman that conceptualizes the theme of the dalas, all while she holds the bride’s hand as she progresses towards the start of the grandest, the most beautiful journey of her life. This is an ode to our sisters, cousins, and best friends, who make it look easy as they take care of anything and everything during a wedding.
What is the price range of your latest collection?
The outfits in Nazakat range from Tk9,000 to Tk16,000. The regular kurti collection ranges from Tk4,000 Tk8,000. The clients can also customize the pieces to fit their budgets.
What are the trending colours this season?
While the usual route to take is velvets and dark colours for December, we opted for pastels and lighter colours. I think there is a certain elegance and sophistication that a light colour brings to a piece. It’s also apt for all occasions.
What’s the one piece of advice you would give to your prospective clients?
Be honest; about what you want and what you would like. I think we do everything we can in our capacity to satisfy the client. I know that sometimes one can feel shy or feel like an inconvenience, but trust me, you’re not an inconvenience to us.
