If you are a young Bangladeshi journalist aged between 18 and 25 years, this is for you

British Council, in partnership with some of the world's leading media organizations, is going to organize the second Future News Worldwide 2019 conference in July.

Bangladesh’s future news makers will get the opportunity to learn from world’s top journalists during the two-day event at Thomson Reuters headquarters in London, according to a press release issued on Sunday.

Applications are now open for the prestigious international conference which aims to assist the next generation of journalists to make global connections and develop a wide range of journalism skills.

This is a fully-funded opportunity for the brightest young student bloggers, vloggers, photojournalists and reporters from across the globe.

The opportunity is available to undergraduate and postgraduate students from any country, as well as recent graduates who will be aged 18-25 years old on July 1, 2019.

Applicants should be able to speak English at an advanced level and need to demonstrate that they are passionate about following a career in journalism.

Applications can be made by visiting www.britishcouncil.org/future-news-worldwide and the deadline for application is March 21.

The press release said that the conference was a once-in-a lifetime opportunity for the next generation of top journalists to hone their skills and make global connections, with contributions from leading media organisations such as CNN, Reuters, Google News Initiative, Facebook and UK Schools of Journalism.

It added that some of the most experienced and respected international editors, broadcasters and reporters had shared their knowledge and insights with delegates from 50 countries including Bangladesh at last year’s event.

Carrie Gracie, BBC News presenter and former BBC China Editor; Reuters Global News Editor Alessandra Galloni; and Yusuf Omar of Hashtag Our Stories were among the speakers last year.

Future News Worldwide 2019 will offer an equally rich and packed program for the next generation of news makers and content creators, said the release.
