Former bureaucrat, social scientist, academic and writer Dr Mizanur Rahman Shelley has passed away at the age of 76.
He died while undergoing treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) hospital on Monday.
His body has been kept at Shamorita Hospital mortuary, family sources said.
Shelley will be laid to eternal rest at the Azimpur graveyard on Thursday.
Dr Shelley was a former teacher of Dhaka University. He was a former member of the erstwhile civil service of Pakistan (CSP). He also served as a technocrat minister in 1990 in the cabinet of HM Ershad.
He was the founder chairman of Centre for Development Research, Bangladesh and served as editor of “Asian Affairs” quarterly.
