Gaibandha 3 MP Dr M Yunus Ali Sarker passes away

Awami League lawmaker from the Gaibandha 3 constituency Dr M Yunus Ali Sarker has passed away. 

He breathed his last at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in Dhaka on Friday, confirmed Sadullapur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Nobi Newaz.

Sadullapur upazila Awami League's Senior Vice-President Khandaker Zillur Rahman said MP Yunus had been suffering from lung cancer for a long time.

President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock and sorrow at his death.

In a condolence message, the prime minister prayed for the eternal salvation of the departed soul, and expressed sympathy to the bereaved family.

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader also expressed his consolation to the grieving family.

MP Yunus left behind his wife, one son, and a host of relatives and well wishers to mourn his death.
