He was rushed to a hospital when his oxygen level dropped
Hamiduzzaman Robi, former managing editor of national news agency Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS), passed away at a Dhaka hospital on Monday evening.
He was 74 years old.
"My father was rushed to the city's Ibn Sina Hospital in Shangkar when his oxygen level came down alarmingly. He breathed his last there at 6.30pm," his son Sakib Prottoy told BSS.
Robi left behind a wife, two sons, a host of professional colleagues, relatives, and friends to mourn his death.
He will be laid to eternal rest at Dhaka's Rayer Bazaar graveyard on Tuesday.
BSS Managing Director and Chief Editor Abul Kalam Azad in a message of condolence expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Hamiduzzaman Robi.
He also conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
