A misguided reaction

Can a drawing, lovingly made by a child, be so offensive that the government official responsible for publishing it on an invitation card should be sent to jail?

We believe the over-zealous action taken by a Barisal lawyer against UNO Gazi Tarek does a disservice to us all, and actually dishonours the memory of our greatest leader and Father of the Nation.

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman belongs to all Bangladeshis, and to punish someone for publishing a drawing which was done with the utmost respect is not what this country, or the spirit of our Liberation, is about.

Litigation against a child’s drawing appears petty and vindictive, and does nothing to uphold the great principles that Bangabandhu stood for.
