Prayers for the fallen

Update : 13 Mar 2018, 12:32 AM
We stand in mourning today, as we remember the 50 people have lost their lives in the plane crash at Tribhuvan International Airport. The US-Bangla Airlines plane was flying from Dhaka to Kathmandu when it careened off the runway during landing and caught on fire, a technical error being blamed for the crash. There are no words that can convey the depth of this tragedy, and nothing will console the family and loved ones of those who lost their lives in such a shocking and unexpected way. A total of 71 people were on board at the time of the crash, including two children. As for the survivors, we hope everything is done to help them pull through and recover from this horrible tragedy. This event should also be a catalyst for improvements in airline safety -- questions as to why this happened must be answered, and the authorities must get to the bottom of how the Bombardier Dash 8 spun out of control so badly, and who should be held accountable. Something like this should never happen again, and liable parties must answer for their mistakes. But for now, let us all send our thoughts and prayers to those who died before their time, and wish their families strength in their hour of need.
