Update : 04 Jan 2017, 07:29 PM
It created a widespread murmur among the Bangladeshi netizens when Singer Asif Akbar on Monday claimed in a Facebook status that musical maestro AR Rahman had copied one of his songs for the film Ok Jaanu. However, Asif retracted from his allegation through another Facebook status after his “genuine well-wishers” texted him through messenger explaining the track was not actually used in that film.

He reiterated his admiration for the Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman in his status and claimed that he did not dare disrespect such a musician.

He wrote in his status that he was actually duped by an unethical act of a third party as he was not a “YouTube expert”. His Facebook status read he found himself in the situation when some of his fans posted the allegation on their Facebook walls. He requested his followers not to become overzealous in expressing their affection for him, because it might end up harming his career rather than helping it.
