During the turbulent days of 1971, Sujeo Shyam and his fellow musicians created songs for Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra to boost the morale of freedom fighters and keep the hope for an independent Bangladesh alive.
Forty six years later, five such songs, will be presented before an audience at this year’s edition of the Joy Bangla concert, to be held at the Army Stadium.
Popular bands Warfaze, Chircutt, Arbovirus, Lalon, Cryptic Fate, Nemesis, Shironamhin and Shunno are scheduled to perform at the concert.
Four inspiring Audio Visuals (Avs) on themes like pride, courage, inspiration and trust will be screened at the event. The content for all the AVs have been compiled from moments of the historic March 7 speech.
Moreover, another key attraction of this edition will be the screening of the colourised version of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s historic March 7 speech.

Like the previous years, renowned musicians will open the show by conducting a grand orchestra playing our National Anthem.
The youth platform, Young Bangla, under the auspices of the Center for Research and Information (CRI), is organising the music extravaganza to inspire the youth through the words of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s March 7 speech.
“The concert seeks to imbue the youth of the country with the timeless message using the universal medium of music, culture and arts,” said Sabbir Bin Shams, executive director of CRI.
