Under the agreement of South Asian Free Trade Area (SAFTA), Bangladesh and India are going to exchange two films this week. Tollywood film Haripada Bandwala is coming to the theatres of Bangladesh, while Nagar Mastan from Bangladesh will be screened in India, according to the deal.
Haripada Bandwala is a romantic comedy film directed by Pathikrit Basu and produced by Shrikant Mohta, and Mahendra Soni under the banner of Shree Venkatesh Films. Featuring Ankush Hazra and Nusrat Jahan in the lead roles, the movie is a remake of 2014 Punjabi comedy film Disco Singh, which itself was loosely based on a Bollywood film, Do Knot Disturb. Interestingly, the film from 2009 was a remake of the 2006 French film, La Doublure (The Valet).
On the other hand, Nagar Mastan is also romantic action film from 2015, which features Zayed Khan, Porimoni, Shahriaz, Mizu Ahmed and Rafsan Jane in the central characters. Directed by Rakibul Alom Rakib, Nagar Mastan is being distributed by Tiger Media and produced by Md Shofikul Islam.
Both of the films will be released on April 7 on both sides of the border.
The King Khan of Dhallywood, Shakib Khan will also be seen in a joint-venture film soon opposite Tollywood sensation Nusrat. Produced by, Shree Venkatesh Films the film is still in its pre-production stages. Thus, distribution of Haripada Bandwala in Bangladesh will be a great opportunity for Nusrat to be introduced to the local audience.
Another celebrated Tollywood actress Paoli Dam starrer Satta, with Shakib Khan in the other lead role, will also be released on the same day, in the same market. This might end up creating a monetary strife between the two films.
