The Film Directors’ Association of the country has decided to take serious action against the film industry’s leading actor Shakib Khan.
In an announcement released on Monday, the association asked all its members to boycott Shakib Khan from all kinds of film activities until a “respecful” settlement is made between the parties.
The leaders of the association brought a serious allegation against Shakib Khan – disrespecting the country’s filmmakers in his speech which was published on national dailies and media.
Signed by the association’s general secretary Bodiul Alam Khakon, the announcement reads, “By this, it is being circulated among the members of Film Directors’ Association that, a legal notice has been issued against Shakib Khan in response to his disrespectful remarks on the country’s filmmakers published on national dailies and media. In decision of the executive members of the association, the notice has been issued against him to protect honour of the association and its members. In the perspective, every member of the association has asked not to involve Shakib Khan in any kind of film activities until the matter reach to a respectful solution.”
The decision of the association leaders came to place in response to a comment made by Shakib Khan.
Recently, Shakib Khan raised a question about the productivity of the filmmakers who are members of the association. He told a newspaper, “Look at the member list of the directors’ association, a great number of directors who are meeting others in usual confabs at the BFDC. But how many of them are actually making films?”
Shakib Khan is yet to response on the legal notice issued against him.
Shakib Khan currently busy in filming his upcoming film Rangbaaz alongside Bubly, a directorial venture of Shamim Ahmed Roni.
