
Actor-turned director Arfan Ahmed is teaming up Soaibur Rasel to release a telefilm titled Big Shot, this Eid. The telefilm offers a fine blend of veteran actors, capturing the performances of more than a dozen iconic TV actors from three different generations, including the likes of ATM Shamsuzzaman, Mamunur Rashid, Amirul Haque Chowdhury, Shahidul Alam Sachchu, Fazlur Rahman Babu, Azad Abul Kalam, Zahid Hasan, Toukir Ahmed, Mahfuz Ahmed, Prova, Swagota and Mousumi Ahmed among others.
Jointly written by Tanzim Rahman and Sadat Rasel, the 90-minute-long telefilm has already been shot at different locations in Uttara and FDC.
Talking about the engagement of a large number of “big shot” artists in a single project, Sikandar Box famed director Arfan Ahmed said, “Actually, the story of the telefilm has been written to suit the large number of the veteran actors. Besides, projects that target the Eid season requires special attention and attributes to stand out.”
“I’ve directed a telefilm or two in the past but this is going to be my first ever project targeting a major festival like Eid. I’ve tried to provide something with variation and twists which will compel the audience to watch the telefim and remember me as a director,” he added.
Big Shot revolves around the lives of a politician, a film heroine and a robber.
“When they first approached me with the story, I thought of it as a rather unconventional story and at the end, it turned out so. It’s not every day, we find a telefilm of this stature in our country,” said Zahid Hasan, the veteran actor who portrays the role of the politician in the telefilm.
Big Shot will air on Channel I during the channel’s Eid special programme.
