Celebrated musician Partha Barua, who has also earned a reputation for his acting performances, will appear only in one telefilm this Eid. Titled The Painter, the Souls member has teamed up with Koneenica Banerjee, one of the leading actors of Tollywood in the venture. This also marks the first venture of the famous Kolkata actor in Bangladesh.
With Meghdol as the frontman, and Shibu Kumar Shil’s screenplay, The Painter was directed by Parvez Amin. The shoot of the telefilm has already been completed, confirmed the director.
Amin informed that Partha Barua will be seen playing the lead role, while Koneenica will be seen working as a model for his paintings. In the telefilm, spanning around a timeline of 25 years, Partha posts an advertisement in a newspaper, looking for a model and offers a handsome pay in exchange. Koneenica applies for the role and eventually gets selected. Their work together goes on for a year.
In the course of events, Partha becomes widely popular for his work, and forgets about Koneenica. But one day, after getting back from an exhibition, Partha finds a letter on a chair, which was previously used by Koneenica. The story starts to take a turn of events from then onwards.
“This is a wonderful work, in fact, my only work this Eid. After being done with it, I thought, a work of this stature is enough. Besides, Koneenica is an astonishing actor, so is the story. I’ve tried my best to portray the role I was assigned to,” said Partha Barua when talking about his work.
The estranging tale of Partha Barua and Koneenica Bannerjee will be aired on NTV, on the day of Eid, at 2:20pm.
Koneenica’s debut appearance was in a soap named Swapnanil, which was telecast on Zee Bangla. And her first big screen appearance was Moloy Bhattacharjee’s film, Tin Ekke Tin. The actor has been lauded for her work in several Tollywood movies, including, Chotushkon, Goray Gondogol, and Shororipu. She is also seen as the lead character on Zee Bangla’s popular soap, Andarmahal.
