Jumanji returns

Update : 02 Jul 2017, 12:29 AM
The long-anticipated sequel to the 1995 adventure blockbuster Jumanji featuring Robin Williams is finally coming out this year and the first trailer for Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle shows that the makers have added an extra dimension to the original story. Released on Thursday, the trailer shows how four high school teenagers are transported into a Jumanji video game as adult avatars and find themselves fighting off wild creatures and motorcycle assailants, jumping into waterfalls and encountering perilous situations. However, in the brand new adventure, four high school kids discover an old video game console and are drawn into the game’s jungle setting, literally becoming the adult avatars they chose. What they discover is that you don’t just play Jumanji - you must survive it. To beat the game and return to the real world, they’ll have to go on the most dangerous adventure of their lives, discover what Alan Parrish left 20 years ago, and change the way they think about themselves - or they’ll be stuck in the game forever. Directed by Jake Kasdan, the film features Karen Gillann in the role of Ruby Roundhouse, Dwayne Johnson in the role of Dr Smolder Bravestone, Missi Pyle in the role of Coach Webb, Kevin Hart in the role of Moose Finbar and Jack Black in the role of Professor Shelly Oberon. Johnson said the sequel pays homage to Williams, who committed suicide in 2014. “In terms of Robin and our story, it’s done with so much love and respect that I think we’re putting ourselves in a really good position, and I think the fans will love it,” he said. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle will be out in theatres on December 20.
