More commonly known as a singer and music composer, Arfin Rumey has been occasionally seen in a number of music videos previously. But the popular cricketer turned pop singer is now ready to further his on-screen journey and has already signed a deal to appear in an upcoming film titled Jannat.
Interestingly, he will be seen performing his own track in the film. Titled “Papi Tapi Mon,” the singer composed the song with lyrics from Sudip Kumar Dip.
“The story demands a concert scene in the film which will feature a singer, singing at a Pahela Boishakh concert. The scene may be short but it is very important, which is why I’ve decided to cast a real singer in the scene and Rumey was onboard,” said Musatifzur Rahman, director of Jannat.
The shooting of the film has started since Ramadan but was hindered due to rain and the director looks forward to finish the remaining bits as soon as possible.
However, two popular actors of Dhallywood, Mahiya Mahi and Saimon Sadik will play the lead roles of the film. The film will also feature Aliraz, Misha Sowdagar, Shimul Khan in different roles. Produced by SS Multimedia, Sudipto Saeed Khan penned the story, while Asad Zaman wrote the screenplay of Jannat.
