
Paying tribute to William Shakespeare, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) has taken an initiative of a year-long program and stage production of Hamlet, adapted from a translated version of Syed Shamsul Haq.
The fourth staging of the stage play, produced by BSA, will take place today (August 10) at the National Theatre Hall, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Shegunbagicha at 7pm.
Mancha Sarathi Ataur Rahman directed the play, while Liaquat Ali Lucky, the director general of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, is an adviser to the production. Thandu Raihan designed the lights on stage.
Masud Sumon and Shafiqul Islam played the role of Hamlet by turns while Shamim Sagor and Sharif Siraj played Claudius, Sangeeta Chowdhury and Merina Meetu played Gertrude, and Kanta Jaman and Mehejabeen Mumu played Ophelia.
