Update : 07 Sep 2017, 10:34 PM
A new television series based on the famous Satyajit Ray character, Detective Feluda, is to arrive on Saturday September 9 at 7.50 PM with its pilot “Sheyal Debota Rahasya” titled by Fresh on Channel i. In this series, popular actor from Kolkata- Parambrata Chatterjee dons the iconic avatar of Feluda, while Riddhi Sen will play Topse. Kandy Productions and TOM Creations have received the rights to work on Feluda from Satyajit Ray’s son, Sandeep Ray. The first season of the series will feature four episodes and the rest of the episodes will be made later in phases. The four stories that the episodes will be based on are Sheyal Debota Rahasya, Ghurghutiyar Ghatona, Golokdham Rahasya, and Gangtokey Gondogol. Satyajit Ray’s Feluda first made his first appearance in a Bengali children’s magazine called Sandesh in 1965, under the editorship of Ray and Subhas Mukhopadhyay. This story was written soon after Ray’s Charulatha was released, about a teenager who wrote about his cousin and his deduction skills in the form of the adventures they embarked on. Ray even drew the duo for his story, and subsequently published stories of their adventures, bringing in more characters to the fore. Sonar Kella (The Golden Fortress) continues to be the most popular Feluda adventure where they try to solve the mystery of a child who remembers events from his previous life. The story was adapted into a film by Ray himself in 1974. Soumitra Chatterjee, Sabyasachi Chakrabarty, Abir Chatterjee, Udai Paul (in a short film), Shashi Kapoor (in Hindi remake of Sonar Kella) have all played the famous sleuth so far. Parambrata Chatterjee,  who played Topshe in Bombaiyer Bombete, Kailashey Kelenkari and Tintorettor Jishu now gets to be the famed detective himself. The viewers will also be able to watch this in Bioscope platforms in Bangladesh and in Adda Times from outside Bangladesh, after the TV telecast.
