The National Film Award winner director is now in Kolkata, working on the musical score of the film, which is being helmed by Devjyoti Mishra.
“After the background music, we are all set with the film. I’ll be back on September 14. The film will be submitted to the censor board next month. I hope that we’ll be able to release the film around the end of the year,” said Giasuddin Selim.
Shopnojaal, the drama film, features Yash Rohan and Pori Moni in the lead roles. The cast list of the film also includes Misha Sowdagar, Fazlur Rahman Babu, Shahana Shumi, Shahidul Alam Sacchu, Iresh Zaker, Shahed Ali, Farhana Mithu, among others.
The film was shot in the bank of the Dakatia river in Chadpur. Rest of the work has been completed in Kolkata. To fulfil the appeal of the storyline, a number of Indian artists were also featured in the film.
After releasing his début full-length film Monpura, a blockbuster hit, on February 13, 2009, Selim took eight years to release his second film. Produced by Bengal Creations, Swapnajaal has only three songs in it. Selim, who also penned the story and screenplay of Swapnajaal, said that “there’s no uproar with the songs this time.”

His breakthrough debut Monpura brought him to the lime light. He won Bangladesh National Film Award twice – Best Story for the film Adhiar (2003) and Best Screenplay for Monpura (2008).
