Nekrohowl will release their debut extended play titled “Epitome of Morbid” on September 30, 2017. On this occasion, the band and Bangladesh Metal Alliance jointly declared an EP launching concert with five leading Bangladeshi extreme metal acts at Dhanmondi’s Russian Cultural Center on the day.
Nekrohowl, a three-piece death metal troop, plays the most gruesome subgenre of heavy metal following the legendary 90’s era tradition. Formed in 2016, the band has previously released a demo with three singles and passed a busy twelve months playing several gigs in and outside the country while also making new songs.
The new EP consists of five intense, classic death metal numbers. It contains death, darkness and destruction as the lyrical theme.
The band’s frontman and guitarist Showmik Das, alias Obliterator, said: “The whole EP is written based on the concept of personifying death as a supreme entity with sheer omnipotence and ominous rage against all mortals. It is believed that death is inevitable, divine and the only truth to be embraced.”
Apart from the launching session and performance by Nekrohowl, the gig will also include performances by leading underground bands from Dhaka, including Orator, Warhound, Infuscation and Invictus. Bangladesh Metal Alliance, in collaboration with Nekrohowl, will facilitate the concert and launching ceremony.
Mujtaba Nurul Hamim, organiser and Bangladesh Metal Alliance head of strategies and PR, told the Dhaka Tribune: “This event is different from any other concerts we arranged, because it is the first time we are collaborating with Nekrohowl in terms of planning and putting on a concert. Promoting Nekrohowl and their release is the topmost priority here, alongside working together with the band to host the heaviest metal concert of the year.”
Tickets for the concert are priced at Tk300 each, while the EP will be sold at Tk400, and an exclusive t-shirt with the EP’s artwork will be available at Tk600. The gate will open at 3pm and the concert will kick off at 3:30pm.
Tickets will be available at the venue.
