
Popular singer, guitarist and composer Faruq Mahfuz Anam, more commonly known as James, is all set to rock aficionados in Australia. Upon the invitation from “Listen For”, an organisation of Bangladeshi expats, the music "Guru" of Bangladesh will perform in three different concerts.
Members of Nagar Baul will also accompany the lead guitarist and vocalist of the band throughout the tour, confirmed Rabin Thakur, the spokesperson of the band.
“Nagar Baul is going to perform in Australia after a hiatus of five years. The troupe will perform in three different concerts there,” he said.
James and his troupe will fly for Australia on November 1 and will be on-stage on November 4 in Sydney, November 5 in Brisbane and November 11 in Melbourne. Khayem Ahmed (Key Board), Jimmy (Drums), Sabbir (Base) and Rana (Guitar) will play alongside the frontman.
James will return to the country on November 13.
Rising to mainstream fame in the 1990s as the frontman of "Feelings" (now renamed "Nagar Baul"), James is considered to be one the pioneers of psychedelic rock in Bangladesh.
