
Chittagong Port Authority is set to shoot a film titled Operation Jackpot, which was a code name used by naval commandos for several military operations during the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971.
An official release stated that a discussion regarding the script was held at the Shipping Ministry in Chittagong on Thursday with Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan.
Shajahan urged the people concerned to highlight Bangabandhu's struggle, planning and historic speech on March 7, including the history of the Liberation War and the heroic role that the naval commandos played.
He said the movie should be made in a way that can infuse confidence into Bangladesh as well as the international community.
Film director Giasuddin Selim has been put in charge of the film.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor, CPA Chairman Rear Admiral M Khaled Iqbal, Additional Secretary of Shipping Ministry Md Rafiqul Islam, member of Muktijuddho Research Team AKM Raisul Haque Bahar, Giasuddin Selim and Naval Commando Sajedul Haque Chunnu were present at the discussion.
