Bengal Classical Music Festival 2017 will not take place this year after weeks of uncertainty loomed over the event throughout October.
Abul Khair, chairman of Bengal Foundation, addressed the media on Sunday and said the event venue was not allotted due to security concerns.
The previous five iterations of the festival had taken place in the Army Stadium in Banani.
Abul Khair thanked the government for all their assistance and appealed to the prime minister to support more events like this in the future.
A set of classical music performances also took place at the press conference.
