Update : 21 Dec 2017, 07:14 PM
Amid an ongoing pandemonium in the local band music scene, yet another pioneering musician has decided to step away from his troupe and this time it is none other than Ibrahim Ahmed Kamal, the renowned lead guitarist of hard rock and heavy metal band Warfaze. Citing a serious physical injury, the guitar maestro declared his disengagement from the band on Wedensday through a post on his Facebook profile. “I have been playing on stage and recording since the mid-'80s. And it's mostly Heavy Metal. Playing heavy music requires extreme physical fitness. Physical injuries due to playing heavy metal started in my life from 2010. I am going through recurring injuries till today. Athletes can recover through proper treatment, physiotherapy and rest. My life had no respite. And according to my doctor's recent advice, I should take rest and heal or suffer the consequences of reality,” Kamal wrote.Declaring his departure from Warfaze, he wrote: “I am done with performing on stage indefinitely. I cannot keep on stage commitments any more. And I cannot reply all your redundant questions. "Thank you for your support all these years. I am grateful to each and every one with who I had the good fortune to meet and spent a minute talking while being in an arena.” The musician, who is often called a trend-setter in rock and metal music in Bangladesh, went on to declare Samir Hafiz as his replacement in the band. "Warfaze will continue and I will find a way to maintain our musical legacy plus my working relationship. But not now," Kamal added. However, when contacted, Sheikh Monirul Alam Tipu, the leader of the heavy metal troupe, tagged Kamal's departure as a 'temporary retreat.' “I am assuming that this is a temporary retreat. He will not be present in our concerts physically, as it is seemingly impossible for him now. However, Kamal will always be involved with Warfaze,” Tipu said. Kamal on his Facebook status also urged all the musicians in the country to take care of their health and follow their doctors' instructions. "It's not worth dying on stage." One of the founding members of Warfaze, Kamal also performed with Aurthohin. He left the hard rock and metal band in 2014. The new lineup of Warfaze is: Shams Mansoor Ghani (Keyboard), Palash Noor (Lead vocal), Naim Haque Roger ( Bass Guitar), Samir Hafiz (Guitar) and Sheikh Monirul Alam Tipu (Drums).
