
Kolkata is set to organise a film festival titled “Bangladesh Film Festival,” which will screen films based on Bangladesh’s War of Liberation in 1971.
Organised by Kolkata’s Deputy High Commission of Bangladesh, the event will commence on January 5 and continue till January 8, 2018.
Mofakkharul Iqbal, the first secretary (press) of Deputy High Commission of Bangladesh in Kolkata, recently told the press that the festival will be held at two venues - the Smriti-Nandan Cultural Center and Nazrul Tirtha Auditorium.
The event will be inaugurated by Bangladesh’s Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu.
A total of 40 documentaries, short films and feature films will be screened at the festival.
Films like “Guerilla,” “Anil Bagchir Ekdin,” “Shadhinota Amar Shadhinota,” “Bangabandhu’r Oshomapto Attojiboni,” “Amar Bondhu Rashed” and many others will be screened at the festival.
