The 16th Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) will begin from Friday (January 12) till January 20.
DIFF will take place at five different venues in Dhaka – National Museum Auditorium, Central Public Library, Alliance Francaise de Dhaka, Russian Cultural Center and Star Cineplex. Many filmmakers, actors and media personalities from all over the world will attend the festival.
The festival will be inaugurated at National Museum Auditorium around 4pm on Friday.
It will screen 216 films from 64 countries, including Bangladesh.
There are eight festival categories – Asian Competition Section, Retrospective, Cinema of the World, Bangladesh Panoroma, Children’s Film, Short and Independent Film, Women Filmmakers, and Spiritual Films Section.

Additionally, the fourth Dhaka International Conference on Women in Cinema will be held at the Gallery of Alliance Francaise de Dhaka on Saturday (January 13) and Sunday (January 14) as part of DIFF.
