Woody Allen’s next on the ‘Time’s Up’ hitlist
Woody Allen has been accused of sexual assault many times in the past. But the most shocking allegation of all was in 1993 by his adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow, who accused him of sexually abusing her as a child.  The director has since been investigated twice to no avail. It seemed as if the art-house director was immune to the “Time’s up” movement, until recently, when an array of actors spoke up in support of Allen’s daughter. The latest string of events was starred up by Dylan Farrow’s open letter published on the New York Times last month. Oprah Winfrey asked the hard question about why Woody Allen has been spared so far from Hollywood’s harassment reckoning on CBS Sunday Morning. The assembly included Shonda Rhimes, Reese Witherspoon, Kathleen Kennedy and Natalie Portman, among others. Winfrey asked, “Did you all see on Golden Globes that Sunday – Dylan Farrow tweeted about Time’s Up saying that when she came forward about her alleged abuser – Woody Allen – four years ago that she thought his time was up. I think he was getting the same award that I received and she says she thought his time was up and but it wasn’t. And she asked: Is time really up now? What would you wanna say to her?” In response, the actors on set spoke in Dylan’s support. Hall, who has a role in Woody Allen’s new film, “A Rainy Day in New York,” announced on Friday that she would not work with the embattled director in the future and was donating her wages to the “Time’s Up” initiative. “After reading and re-reading Dylan Farrow’s statements of a few days ago and going back and reading the older ones – I see, not only how complicated this matter is, but that my actions have made another woman feel silenced and dismissed,” Hall wrote. “That is not something that sits easily with me in the current or indeed any moment, and I am profoundly sorry. I regret this decision and wouldn’t make the same one today.” [embed]https://www.instagram.com/p/Bd3ZjWeghV9/?utm_source=ig_embed&utm_campaign=embed_legacy[/embed] Last week, Allen’s son, reporter Ronan Farrow remained neutral when The Hollywood Reporter asked if he believes the industry will eventually turn on Allen the way it has on Weinstein. “It’s not for me to say what Hollywood will or won’t do,” Farrow said. “I will say that in every industry there are still powerful men facing credible allegations of wrongdoing who continue to evade accountability. As empowering a moment as this moment is, there’s still a long way to go.” Ronan Farrow has been ruthless in publicly criticizing his father in the past.
