International Children’s Film Festival Bangladesh is an annual week-long film festival showcasing features, shorts and experimental films made for and by children. This year, the festival will take place from January 27 to February 2, screening over 200 films in 6 different venues in Bangladesh. Inaugurated in 2008, the festival is one of the biggest film events in Bangladesh. The festival is organized by Children’s Film Society Bangladesh (CFS), a youth-led organization working to impact the film industry of Bangladesh by inspiring the upcoming generation of filmmakers, and offering them bigger platform to exercise and exhibit their talent. Established in 2006, the society started its operation by organizing a 3 day long film screening session at the auditorium of Goethe-Institute Bangladesh. The society is run by a 15 members executive committee formed for two years term. At present, eminent writer Dr. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal is the president and leading female photojournalist Munira Morshed Munni is the general secretary of the organization. CFS has an advisory committee headed by eminent artist Mustafa Monwar.
