
Social media scene of Bangladesh is flooded with praise for Gias Uddin Selim’s second feature film “Swapnajaal” starring Pori Moni and Yash Rohan, since its premiere show at Star Cineplex on April 5. Selim’s second film officially hit the theatres on April 6 after nine years since the release of his first “Monpura.” The film went housefull on its first day and is being well received by its audiences for its story, visuals and acting.
After watching the premiere show of “Swapnajaal” famous writer and journalist Anisul Hoque took to Facebook and wrote that he loved the film and thinks that it is even better than Selim’s first film “Monpura.”
Dipankar Dipon, who helmed the massive blockbuster film Dhaka Attack, recently wrote on Facebook that he thinks that Pori Moni will turn into something much bigger and he wholeheartedly prays and hopes for that.
Chanchal Chowdhury, who recently won the national award for best male actor for “Aynabaji” and also the lead of Selim’s first film, “Monpura,” wrote on his official Facebook profile that Selim is one his most favourite filmmakers and he can not say enough about him.
Produced by Bengal Creations, “Swapnajaal” is a Bangladesh India co-production. Set in the mid-nineties in a local suburb of Bangladesh, the film is the love story of a young couple set against the backdrop of communal riots. The film is distributed by Ashirbad Chalachitra.
