
Bangla Academy has conferred the Rabindra Award 2018 on researcher Abul Momen, and singer Fahim Hossain Chowdhury.
Abul Momen got the award in recognition of his research on Tagore, and Fahim Hossain Chowdhury, for practicing Rabindra Sangeet.
Bangla Academy Chairman and Professor Emeritus, Anisuzzaman, and Director General, Professor Shamsuzzaman Khan, handed over the award to them at a function on Monday.
Bangla Academy organized the function at its Abdul Karim Sahitya Bisharad Auditorium in the evening, marking the 157th birth anniversary of poet Rabindranath Tagore.
Professor Emeritus Anisuzzaman presided over the function, while Vice-Chancellor of Rabindra University, Professor Biswajit Ghosh, presented a keynote paper on Tagore.
Professor Shamsuzzaman Khan delivered the welcome speech, followed by a cultural program.
