Iftekhar owned Star Film Corporation that churned out many notable films since the 1950s
Legendary film producer Iftekharul Alam Kislu passed away on Saturday, January 5, at 9:35pm at the United Hospital.He was 91.
He producedmultiple Razzak-Suchanda hitssuch as “Behula” (1966), “Anowara” (1967) and “Songsar” (1968) and various other classics like the Liberation War film “Ora Egaro Jon” (1972) and blockbusters like “Alibaba” (1967).
Iftekhar owned Star Film Corporation that churned out many notable films since the 1950s. As a distinguished businessperson, he became the president of the Federation of the Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI). He was also a lifetime member of the North South University Trust.
The producer’s wife, Fouzia Alam, confirmed the news of his death on Sunday. He was suffering from old-age complications and pneumonia. He will be buried at the Banani graveyard.
