Iranian film festival to begin in Dhaka on February 8

The inaugural session will be held at the main auditorium of the museum at 3:30pm on February 8

The five-day-long Iranian film festival is set to be held in Dhaka from February 8-12.

The Iran Cultural Centre and Bangladesh National Museum will jointly organize the event at the museum’s Begum Sufia Kamal Auditorium.

The inaugural session will be held at the main auditorium of the museum at 3:30pm on February 8. 

Information Minister Hasan Mahmud is scheduled to be present as the chief guest at the inaugural session, while Iranian Ambassador to Bangladesh Mohammad Reza Nafar, and eminent actor and director Touqir Ahmed are set to attend the festival as special guests.

Rashidul Islam, executive editor of online portal Amadershomoy.com, will present the keynote paper while Md Reaz Ahmed, director general of Bangladesh National Museum, will preside over the inaugural session.

The inauguration will be followed by a screening of the film “M for Mother,” directed by Rasoul Mollagholipour.
