Dhaka University Film Society (DUFS) is organizing a six-day long film festival “Amar Bhashar Cholochitra 1425” (Film in my language) from Sunday. The festival will end on February 15.
Sixteen feature and four short films will be screened this year at the 18th repeat of this festival.
Post, Telecommunication and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar will inaugurate the festival.
Special guests at the event will be former DU vice-chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique, and prominent film and theatre director Nasiruddin Yousuff.
The Hiralal Sen Award will be given on February 13.
The nominees for this prestigious award this year are “Debi,” “Komola Rocket,” “Jonmobhumi,” “Pathshala,” “Shonaton Golpo,” and “Matir Projar Deshe.”
The chief guest at that event will be Information Minister Hasan Mahmud.
“Amar Bhashar Cholochitra” is held every year in February to honour the martyrs of the 1952 Language Movement.
