The film is written and directed by Wahid Ibn Reza, who has made a name for himself in Hollywood as a VFX artist. The teaser was released from Wahid Ibn Reza’s official YouTube channel and its description reads: “Three captured freedom fighters of the 1971 liberation war of Bangladesh, reminiscence about what brought them to the war as they prepare to face their ultimate demise, getting shot in the back and thrown out of a moving train.”

The Dhaka Tribune's Showtime contacted Wahid to ask him about the estimated release date of the project. He said: "We are targeting March 2020, which depends on further funding."

He also mentioned that the latest updates on the project can be found on the official website and the official Facebook fan page of the film "Surviving 71."

Wahid had previously told Dhaka Tribune’s Showtime that the feature length version of this film will be based on real life experiences of Wahid’s father Rezaul Karim, a freedom fighter, academician, and former minister of Bangladesh.

The film will depict the story of Rezaul, a student at Mymensingh Teachers’ Training College during the war in 1971, who was picked up and arrested from there by Pakistani forces.

The teaser’s music was done by Meghdol’s Rasheed Sharif Shoaib and Rajesh Saha was its sound designer.

Wahid joined the Bardel Entertainment animation studio after his graduation and had worked there for a few years. He later joined the famous Moving Picture Company (MPC) as project coordinator and worked for the “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” project.
