‘Protishodh’, ‘Agontuk’ and ‘Shaheb Bibi’ win ‘Reel Hunt’

A total of 674 teams submitted their films for this competition

Winners of “Reel Hunt,” the first short film festival by Grameenphone, were announced and awarded in a gala event at GP House on Thursday. Among the competing teams, team “Noa- The Sky of Hope” won the first place with the film “Protishodh.” The 2nd and 3rd prize went to “Agontuk” by team “3 Films” and “Shaheb Bibi” by team “Ongkur Creation” respectively.    

 “Reel Hunt” is an initiative to support aspiring filmmakers, showcase their talents and develop their skills with the mentorship and training from the finest film makers of Bangladesh. 

A total of 674 teams submitted their films for this competition. After rigorous screening process, 35 submissions were selected for a daylong Filmmaking Boot camp on April 20. Trainers included Gousul Alam Shaon, AshfaqueNipun and Rahat Rahman. On April 29 and April 30, all the teams presented their short film for the final round. 

Information Minister Dr. Muhammad Hasan Mahmud MP, the chief guest at the event said: “The entertainment industry in Bangladesh is witnessing a surge of new talents to take the cultural values of the country to newer heights. A platform like ‘Reel Hunt’ will not only help these new talents to grow, but will also help the industry to shape up towards a better future.”

The Champion of Grameenphone Presents “Reel Hunt” will be awarded with Taka 100,000 while the 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up will receive Taka 75,000 and Taka 50,000 respectively. All the winning films will be featured in the video streaming platform, Bioscope.
