Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, has “given birth to a healthy boy”, confirmed Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, to various reporters. The royal baby was born early Monday morning and weighs 7lbs and 30z (3.26 kg).
The baby is the first child for both Meghan and Prince Harry, and will be seventh in line to the throne. He is Queen Elizabeth’s eighth great-grandchild.
On Monday morning, a statement was issued from Buckingham Palace saying that Meghan had gone into labour.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex first announced the pregnancy in October, following their royal wedding in May 2018. Meghan apparently declined to find out the sex of the child before the birth.
