Popular Bangladeshi band Meghdol’s vocalist, lyricist and talented filmmaker Mejbaur Rahman Sumon is all set for his directorial debut on the big screen. The film, titled Hawa, will start production from October and will feature nine central characters, including popular Bangladeshi actor Chanchal Chowdhury.

Nazifa Tushi and Sariful Razz, who starred in Redoan Rony’s film Ice Cream, will also be featured in this film.

Sumon did not want to share any details with the press. He said: “We have been doing the pre-production of this film for the last one and a half years. The film will have nine central characters. Most of them have been confirmed, but all of them have not signed yet. So, if I spill only one or two people’s name as the film’s director, then the other characters might feel left out. We will let the press know all the details of the project, within this month.”

“The celebrity names that have been highlighted  might lead the audience into thinking that it is a romantic story, but the truth is each of the nine characters are equally important in this film's storyline,” added Sumon.

Chanchal came onboard  this project while shooting Debi last year. He was working on the pre-production of this film with Sumon since then.

The project  team  is scheduled to start the shoot from the last week of October in Cox’s Bazar, Teknaf and St Martin’s Island.
