Star Cineplex flaunts new semi recliner seats

Star Cineplex, Bangladesh’s first multiplex chain, has posted photos and ticket prices of their brand new semi recliner and lounger seat options at their newly opened branch at capital’s SKS Tower in Mohakhali. The images were posted on their official facebook fan page on Saturday.

Ticket prices for the new seating options at the Mohakhali branch (including regular, lounger, paired, and semi recliner and VIP seats) will vary from Tk450 to Tk1500.

The photos of the new seating options went viral on social media platforms after the grand opening ceremony of their third branch. 

Some Bangladeshi netizens complained about the high pricing and compared it with ticket prices of Imax theatres, a proprietary system of high-resolution projection known for having very large screens with a tall aspect ratio and steep stadium seating, in India and Thailand.

A regular Imax theatre ticket in Bangkok costs around 120 baht or Tk335. Indian Imax theatre's premium tickets starts from Rs600 or Tk700. Netizens are complaining that Cineplex officials are charging very high ticket prices without having any Imax projection capabilities.

Dhallywood stars Shakib Khan, Ferdous Ahmed, Tariq Anam Khan, Nirob, and many others were present during the grand opening of the newest and third branch of Star Cineplex located at capital's SKS Tower in Mohakhali on Saturday.
