The latest film in the Terminator franchise, Terminator: Dark Fate, has already been released yesterday- the same day as the film's international release. Dark Fate, which was made with the mammoth budget of $185 million, marks the return of James Cameron as producer, and story writer. Cameron directed the first two films in the hit franchise- The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Cameron came on board to make Dark Fate because he was intrigued by the prospect of making the film as a direct sequel to Terminator 2, while ignoring the other three sequels that have already been made - Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Terminator Salvation, and Terminator Genisys. However, reportedly the the plot of Dark Fate has a connection with those three sequels as well. Dark Fate is directed by Tim Miller.
Dark Fate also brings back actors Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton, who were among the principal cast of the first two films in the franchise. Schwarzenegger reprises his iconic role as T-800 "Model 101," and Hamilton also reprises the role of Sarah Connor. This film reunites the actors in the franchise after 28 years.
Regarding Dark Fate Hamilton told reporters: "After 91's Judgement Day people will get the taste of Terminator in theatres once again. And the action sequences are ten times longer than previously seen in the franchise."
On the other hand, Schwarzenegger said: "I think this is another Terminator film with a completely different plot. And every aspect of the film has a touch of James Cameron. Therefore, it will definitely make those who loved the first Terminator film nostalgic. Among all the Terminator films that the viewers have received so far, this one will definitely have the most number of action sequences."
Before the release of the trailer for Dark Fate, Cameron himself announced: "This one is longer, and more amazing than the first two Terminator films."
Star Cineplex will also bring the newest film in the Star Wars franchise, titled Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which will be directed by JJ Abrams. Mark Hamill will once again play the role of Luke Skywalker. The film will be released on December 20. The film's premise states that the conflict between Jedi and Sith will reach its climax, and will bring the "Skywalker saga" to a definitive end.
The newest film in the Charlie's Angels franchise is also set to be released at Cineplex (November 15). The newest film is titled the same as the original one, released in 2000. The 2019 film will feature actors Kirsten Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska in the roles of the eponymous angels.
