The new film is the first standalone film for Scarlett Johansson’s character, Natasha Romanoff
Marvel Studios has released the first trailer of Black Widow, one of the most awaited superhero films of the year, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
The new film is the first standalone film for Scarlett Johansson’s character, Natasha Romanoff.
The film takes place between the events of Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War. The story will follow directly from Captain America: Civil War.
The Handmaid’s Tale actor OT Fagbenle will also appear in the film.
Speaking about the film, Johansson told The Hollywood Reporter that the film packs “a big punch” and that it’s been “liberating in a way,” to act as executive producer for the first time for a Marvel film.
“I feel like I’m in control of the destiny of this film, which gives me a lot more peace of mind,” she said.
Black Widow will be released in cinemas on May 1, 2020.
