Inkling 1.0 short film and photography competition 2019 concludes

The jury board members in the photography contest included Debabrata Chowdhury, Munira Morshed Munni, Mir Shamsul Alam Babu, KU Masud and KM Jahangir Alam

Film and Photo Lab of Eden Women’s College arranged its first film and photography exhibition and contest titled Inkling 1.0 from December 14-15 at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. A total of 10 prizes were given away in five categories at the closing ceremony on Sunday evening. 

The chief guests at the event were photographer Sayeeda Khanam and former governor of Bangladesh Bank Dr Atiur Rahman. The speakers applauded this effort by young women and encouraged such extracurricular activities alongside academic studies. 

Special guest Nure Alam Siddiquee delivered the opening remarks. The closing remarks were delivered by Sayeree Aktar Bidhun, president of Film and Photo Lab, and Afroza Aktar, the general secretary. 

The jurors in the short film category were veteran film-maker Haider Rizvi, film editor Chaitali Somadder, thespian Masud Sumon and film critic Sadia Khalid Reeti.

The Pritilata Waddedar grand prize went to Nigar Sultana Eva for her photo Woman, or Just Human, and to Md Abid Mallick for his short film A Little Red Car. The chief guests handed over the awards to the winners at the closing ceremony. 

Film and Photo Lab was established in 2017 to support the creative potentials of the students of Eden Women’s College. It organizes trainings and workshops on film and photography regularly.
