Asif Akbar starrer Gohiner Gaan releases in 15 theatres

Popular singer Asif Akbar's debut feature film Gohiner Gaan released in 15 theatres yesterday. The musical film will feature nine new songs sung by Asif.

In Dhaka the film will be screened- throughout the week- at the Blockbuster Cinemas, Balaka, Shyamoli, Madhumita, Sena Cinema Hall and Geet. Among theatres outside Dhaka, Gohiner Gaan will be screened at New Metro (Narayanganj), Champakoli (Tongi, Gazipur), Chandrima (Savar), Purobi (Mymensingh), Shapla (Rangpur), Chitrali (Khulna), and Rupkotha (Pabna).

The presenter of Gohiner Gaan is The Abhi Kathachitra, and they have told reporters that the number of theatres for this film will increase in the next week. They are working towards that goal.

The film, written and directed by novelist Sadat Hossain,  also stars Syad Hasan Imam, Toma Mirza, Tanzika Amin, Amaan Reza, Kazi Asif, and Tulona Al Harun.

Reportedly, the entire film team, including Asif, will be going to various theatres throughout the week to promote the film. Regarding this the director Sadat Hossain said: "The first two days we will spend time with the viewers in theatres of Dhaka, and those around it. After that we will go to theatres outside of Dhaka as well. We believe that the film will touch everyone's heart."

As per the announcement, yesterday at 11am the team went to Balaka theatre. Then they went to Shyamoly, Sena Cinema Hall, Jamuna Future Park's Blockbuster Cinemas and Madhumita. They will also go to theatres right outside Dhaka.

Regarding the film Asif told reporters: "We have tried to express the poetry of our heart's inner happiness and sadness. This story could be relatable to anyone. To ensure that the film touches people's hearts, we will be going from one hall to another."

The film will depict the conflict between stardom and personal life of a popular singer played by Asif. According to the film's Facebook page the films synopsis is the following. The character played by Asif is always busy with his music and spends very little time with his family. This creates turmoil in the relationship between him and his wife - played by Tanzika Amin. Very soon the wife starts believing that the singer loves his career more than he loves her. As a result the distance in their relationship becomes larger. 

One day Asif's character starts narrating to his wife the story of a lonely-old-widower painter, who also fought similar battle between stardom and personal life. The painter is played by Syed Hasan Imam. This painter comes across a young girl played by Toma Mirza. From this point onwards, the film portrays the complex stories of love, affection, passion, joy, conflicts and hatred of both of the singer and painter’s life in a parallel way.
