Tauquir, in his casual humorous trait, told the Dhaka Tribune’s Showtime why he wrote a poetry book
Actor cum director Tauquir Ahmed has revealed yet another hidden talent. This Ekushey book fair, he is releasing a poetry book titled “Ekguchchha Kobita.”
This book is special for an array of reasons. To name a few, it’s his first poetry book and the cover has been designed by none other than his wife, popular actor and artist Bipasha Hayat.
Tauquir, in his casual humorous trait, told the Dhaka Tribune’s Showtime why he wrote a poetry book.
“Making films is very expensive,” the director joked. “So I was venting in an art form art that doesn’t require much investment.”
He refrained from commenting on the nature of the poems, saying: “You have to read the book to figure that one out.”
This is not Tauquir’s first book, however. He previously published three books that were about three theatre productions- “Protishoron” (2012), “Ichchhemrittu” (2013), and “Oggatonama” (2015). The later was turned into a film in 2016, directed by Tauquir himself. It went on to receive several national and international awards.
“Ekguchchha Kobita” will be available at the Ekushey Book Fair within a week.
