Indian biographical crime drama Omerta, starring Rajkummar Rao in the role of Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh, a British terrorist of Pakistani descent, will be released on July 25.
Marking his debut as a writer, Mukul Dev conceived the idea of the film and presented it to director Hansal Mehta. The drama explores the story behind the 1994 kidnappings of Westerners in India which led to Omar’s arrest.
ZEE5 Global will release the film along with a long line-up of on-demand fiction and non-fiction shows, new originals and special curations this month, including new episodes of popular TV shows Kehne Ko Humsafar , Kumkum Bhagya, Kundali Bhagya, and Guddan Tumse Na Ho Payega.
Mafia, a mystery thriller series will also hit the screens on July 10, revolving around six college friends who reunite after 5 years for a bachelorette party in the jungles of Madhupur, where their horrifying past comes back to haunt them.
Also releasing in this month are Kaalchakra, Virgin Bhanupriya and Unlock.
ZEE5 Global has also bagged rights for a set of blockbuster Hindi films including the Tiger Shroff starrer Baaghi.
