A close friend of the actor said the cancer is curable but needs immediate treatment
Sanjay Dutt took to Twitter on Tuesday evening to announce that he is taking a break from films for medical treatment. Although the actor didn’t confirm what illness he will be treating, film critic Komal Nahta’s tweets give us valuable insight about the actor’s ailment.
Nahta wrote in his Twitter post: “Sanjay Dutt diagnosed with lung cancer. Let’s pray for his speedy recovery.”

In another post, the critic wrote: “Not the new dreaded ‘C’ (Coronavirus), it’s the other dreaded ‘C’, Cancer, that Sanjay Dutt has been diagnosed with.”
Dutt’s tweets, however, don’t mention cancer.
"Hi friends, I am taking a short break from work for medical treatment,” the actor wrote. “My family and friends are with me and I urge my well-wishers not to worry or unnecessarily speculate. With your love and good wishes, I will be back soon!"

Just wanted to assure everyone that I’m doing well. I’m currently under medical observation & my COVID-19 report is negative. With the help & care of the doctors, nurses & staff at Lilavati hospital, I should be home in a day or two. Thank you for your well wishes & blessings 🙏
