Fauci, Biden, Harris, Trump, and Modi have also been included in this year’s list
Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana has been named in the 100 most influential people of 2020 by the Time Magazine.
The actor on Wednesday shared the news on Instagram, saying he was honoured to be a part of the group.
“TIME’s list of the 100 Most Influential People in the world is out, I’m honored to be a part of this group: time.com/time100 @TIME #TIME100,” The actor wrote in his post.
“I’m truly humbled with the recognition that TIME has bestowed on me. As an artiste, I have only looked to contribute towards bringing a positive change in society through cinema and this moment is a huge validation of my belief system and my journey.
“I have always believed that cinema has the power to bring about change by triggering the right conversations among people and society. Hopefully, through my content choices, I have been able to contribute towards my country and countrymen,” he wrote.
Ayushmann made his Bollywood debut as in the movie “Vicky Donor.”
He also starred in films including “Andhadhun” where he depicted a blind man; “Shubh Mangal Saavdhan” where he played the role of a man suffering from erectile dysfunction; a gay man in the film “Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan;” and acted as a bald man in film “Bala.”
“Dum Laga Ke Haisha,” “Bareilly Ki Barfi,” “Article 15,” and “Dream Girl” are also some of the films which he acted in as the lead character.
This year’s list also includes US Physician Anthony Fauci, US President Donald Trump, US Democrat Presidential candidate Joe Biden, Democrat vice- presidential candidate US Senator Kamala Harris, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Artists like Selena Gomez and The Weeknd, too, have been named in the list.
The magazine put their list of 100 people into five categories – pioneers, artists, leaders, titans, and icons.
