'Big Lebowski' star Jeff Bridges diagnosed with cancer, urges everyone to vote

Hollywood veteran star Jeff Bridges revealed his cancer diagnosis and said that his prognosis is good in a statement released on Monday evening, October 19.

He tweeted, "Although it is a serious disease, I feel fortunate that I have a great team of doctors and the prognosis is good."

He said, he was thankful for his family's support, and promised to keep his fans updated about his recovery.

The seven-time Oscar nominee is currently working on a TV series titled The Old Man. 

Widely regarded as one of the greatest and most underrated actors of his generation, Bridges won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of a broken country singer in Crazy Heart. 

Despite appearing in classic Hollywood films like The Last Picture Show, Starman and Tron, he reached a new height in his career for playing the Dude in cult classic The Big Lebowski.

Fans and colleagues quickly reacted to the actor's diagnosis news and wished him a speedy recovery. 

Bridges did not let go of this opportunity to perform his civic duty and urged everyone to vote in the general election. 

He tweeted, "And, while I have you, please do not forget to go vote."
