As cinema halls reopen in Bangladesh after a seven month pandemic break, Star Cineplex is making a comeback with style. Christopher Nolan's Tenet and Disney's live action Mulan will premiere on Friday, October 23, to revive footfall at the multiplexes.

Both of the Hollywood films created buzz worldwide since the beginning of the year. But the pandemic pushed back their release dates several times.

Mulan is about a young Chinese maiden who disguises herself as a male warrior in order to save her father. It had a Hollywood premiere on March 9, but had to be pulled back from US theatres. It was instead released on Disney+ for a premium fee.

Tenet was released in the UK on August 26, and in the US on September 3, after rescheduling three times. Starring John David Washington and Robert Pattinson, the film follows the protagonist, as he journeys through a twilight world of international espionage on a mission that will unfold in something beyond real time.

Among the local films, Masus Hasan Ujjal's Unoponchash Batash is the only new film being released in Star Cineplex, which will sell only upto 40% of the tickets to ensure social distancing inside the halls.
