Spielberg filed for a restraining order against a female stalker who allegedly tried to buy a gun to shoot him
Steven Spielberg, the director of Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T., Jurassic Park and others, has been receiving death threats for months from a woman named Sarah Char.
The director complained that the woman tried to purchase a gun to hurt him and his family. After filing the legal documents requesting for a protective order, Spielberg was granted the restraining order against the stalker, the TMZ reported.
According to her previous records, the woman was arrested once before for harassment, stalking and making threats against unknown targets.
The director disclosed that he had received a direct message from the stalker which read, "If I have to personally MURDER people for stealing my IPs‚ I WILL. Get me?"
The 73-year-old veteran director said that he was in fear for his life and the safety of his family after being terrorized for months. As he has successfully secured the restraining order, the stalker would have to remain at least 100 yards away from Spielberg and his family.
