Actor Abdul Kader, well-known for playing iconic comedy characters on TV, has been diagnosed with stage IV cancer and is currently in a critical condition with a low haemoglobin count.
The actor was taken to Chennai for treatment after a CT scan had revealed a tumour in his body. According to media reports, physicians of Christian Medical Hospital in Chennai have concluded on December 15 that cancer is spreading all over his body.
The physicians have deemed the actor’s current health ‘extremely weak’ for chemotherapy and are waiting for him to regain strength. The family has reportedly decided to bring him back to Bangladesh once he recovers if he cannot be given chemo.
Abdul Kader became a household name for his iconic character Bodi in Humayun Ahmed’s serial Kothao Keu Nei. He had a regular spot on Hanif Sanket’s Ityadi and is a revered TV actor, lauded for his comedic prowess.
